Louis-Vincent Gave

30 septembre 2024

However, his career started in a completely different field, namely in the French military, where he achieved the rank of Second Lieutenant in the Mountain Infantry Division. His appetite for adventure seems to have shaped Gave’s later career, as his transition into the financial world was marked by a willingness to explore uncharted territory. He has since delved into the Chinese economy, the Chinese financial markets, and the country’s geopolitical relations with the West. Gave has published various analyses on these topics, accumulating vast knowledge in the process.

In addition to his role as an investor and analyst, Gave has also published numerous books on the same subjects. One of his books, Clash of Empires: Currencies and Power in a Multipolar World, discusses the consequences of the world potentially dividing into different monetary zones with their own economic policies and imperialist ambitions. Considering today’s geopolitical developments, it’s clear that Gave’s reflections are highly relevant.

Gave has also received much praise for his latest book, Avoiding the Punch: Investing in Uncertain Times. In the book, he focuses on how to build a portfolio that is resilient during times of geopolitical unrest and economic volatility. He addresses themes such as the relationship between the US and China and the consequences of globalisation.

Louis-Vincent Gave studied history and Chinese at Duke University in North Carolina and Nanjing University. After his time in the French military, Gave began his financial career at Paribas, where he worked as a financial analyst in Paris and Hong Kong.
